Teens don't always have words for what they're feeling. Sometimes anger, silence, or screen addiction are signs of something deeper.
Constant competition, exam stress, and pressure to perform. Many teens feel like their worth is tied to their grades.
Fear of judgment, bullying, friendship drama, and fitting in. Social media makes everything feel amplified.
Questioning who they are, what they believe, and where they fit. This is normal but can feel overwhelming.
Feeling not good enough, comparing themselves to others, struggling with body image or self-worth.
Feeling out of control, mood swings, and intense emotions that are hard to manage or understand.
Escaping into screens, gaming, social media, or online content to avoid difficult feelings. If gaming has become compulsive, we offer a dedicated gaming addiction programme for teens with parent coaching included.
Sometimes their behavior is the message. Click to read what might be underneath.

When teens pull away, parents often feel rejected. But silence doesn't always mean they don't care.
"Many teens are exhausted from performing all day. Home is where they finally let down the mask. This doesn't mean they don't love you - it might mean they trust you enough to not pretend."
Friends are important, but sometimes teens need an adult outside the family who they can talk to freely.
"Therapy provides a confidential space where they don't have to worry about it getting back to anyone. Sometimes that freedom is exactly what they need."
Anger is often a cover for more vulnerable emotions like fear, sadness, or frustration.
"Beneath anger is usually something much harder to express - hurt, fear, overwhelm. We help teens understand what's really going on beneath the surface."
Screen addiction is often avoidance - teens using screens to escape uncomfortable feelings.
"We don't confiscate phones. We help teens understand why they're drawn to screens and develop healthier ways to cope with difficult emotions."
Perfectionism, self-criticism, and fear of failure can be paralyzing for many teens.
"We work on building self-compassion and helping teens separate their worth from their achievements. You can be high-achieving AND kind to yourself."
Parent-teen conflict is normal, but when it becomes chronic, everyone suffers.
"We offer parent guidance to help you understand your teen better, plus sessions that help both of you communicate more effectively. The relationship can get better."
We use creative, age-appropriate approaches that engage teens rather than pushing them to sit still and talk.
Using creative expression to explore emotions. Sometimes it's easier to draw what you feel than to talk about it.
Writing prompts, guided activities, and playful exercises that help teens process their thoughts and feelings.

Therapy isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about helping teens build on their strengths.
Learning to understand and manage intense emotions rather than being controlled by them.
Developing a stronger sense of self-worth that isn't tied to grades, likes, or others' opinions.
Better communication with family, friends, and developing healthier boundaries in relationships.
Building practical tools for managing stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions without harmful avoidance.
Feeling clearer about identity, values, and future goals rather than feeling lost or confused.
Improved understanding between parents and teens, leading to less conflict and more connection.
Real experiences from families we've worked with.
"My daughter wouldn't talk to me at all. After a few months of therapy, she's actually opening up - at home AND in her sessions. I didn't think this was possible."
"I was so resistant to therapy. But Mr Lekh doesn't make you talk about stuff you're not ready for. The art stuff actually helped me figure some things out."
"Our son was so angry all the time. We didn't know what to do. Therapy helped him understand his feelings and gave him tools he actually uses. The change in our house has been remarkable."
"I thought there was something wrong with me. Turns out, I was just carrying stuff I didn't know how to put down. Therapy helped me realize I'm not broken - I'm just human."
Here are answers to questions we hear most often.
Some signs that therapy might help include: sudden changes in behavior or mood, withdrawal from family or friends, declining grades, risk-taking behavior, excessive anger or sadness, changes in sleep or eating, or self-harm. Teens don't always have words for what they're feeling - sometimes behavior is the message.
This is very common. We don't force teens into therapy - we create space where they feel safe and heard. Sometimes the first step is a parent consultation where we help you understand what your teen might be going through. Many teens who initially resist therapy become engaged once they realize it's different from what they expected.
We use age-appropriate approaches including art therapy, play-based techniques, journaling, and creative exercises. These work well for teens who struggle to express themselves verbally. We also incorporate CBT, DBT skills, and narrative therapy based on individual needs. The approach is tailored to your teen's personality and preferences.
Therapy sessions are a confidential space for your teen. What they share stays between them and their therapist, with some legal exceptions for safety. This confidentiality is essential for building trust. You'll receive general progress updates, but your teen needs to know they have a private space to explore their feelings.
Parent involvement is important but works differently than in child therapy. We offer parent guidance sessions to help you understand your teen's experience and learn ways to support them. Some sessions may include both of you when helpful. The focus is on improving communication and your relationship.
Anger is often a cover for more vulnerable emotions like fear, sadness, or frustration. Teens who seem angry frequently are struggling with something underneath. We help teens understand what's really going on beneath the anger and develop healthier ways to cope. Anger isn't the problem - it's a symptom.
Be honest but not preachy. Instead of framing it as 'something is wrong with you,' try: 'I've noticed you've been struggling lately and I want to help.' Emphasize it's about support, not punishment. Let them know they can meet the therapist once and decide if it's right for them.
