Yes. Online ADHD assessment conducted via secure video by an RCI-registered clinical psychologist is clinically valid. The assessment process, psychometric tools, and written report are identical to in-person assessment. Clinical validity depends on the rigour of the process — the DIVA-5 structured interview, validated psychometric instruments, and the written diagnostic report — not the physical location of the session. Coach For Mind has conducted online ADHD assessments for adults across India since 2020.
The question most people ask before booking an online assessment is whether it is as rigorous as sitting in a clinic. The honest answer is: for the clinical content that matters, yes. Here is what changes — and what does not.
For the vast majority of adults, online assessment produces an equally rigorous and clinically valid outcome. The exception is a small number of complex presentations where direct observation adds meaningful clinical information — in those cases, your assessor will discuss this during the discovery call.
The online assessment process at Coach For Mind is straightforward. Here is exactly what happens from enquiry to report.
Message or call to book a free 15-minute discovery call. We confirm availability, answer your questions about the process, and schedule your assessment session. Most clients are booked within 24 to 48 hours of their first message.
A brief video or phone call with your assessor. We discuss what you are experiencing, confirm that a formal assessment is the right next step, and walk through what the session will involve. No clinical conclusions are drawn at this stage — this is a practical orientation call.
We send standardised self-report measures electronically — the ASRS v1.1 and supporting scales. You complete these at your own pace before the session. They give your assessor a structured baseline before the interview begins and make the clinical session more efficient.
The core of the assessment. Your RCI-registered psychologist conducts the DIVA-5 structured diagnostic interview — the gold-standard protocol for adult ADHD. The interview covers developmental history, symptom presentation across all DSM-5 domains, functional impairment, and differential diagnosis. The session is conducted on a secure, encrypted video platform. All you need is a quiet private space and a stable internet connection.
A detailed clinical document authored and signed by your RCI-registered assessor. The report includes diagnostic formulation, psychometric findings, DSM-5 criteria analysis, functional impact summary, and specific recommendations. Delivered as a formatted PDF to your email. Clinically valid indefinitely for use with employers, psychiatrists, or academic institutions.
A dedicated video session to discuss the report findings with your assessor. We walk through what was found, answer your questions, and map out next steps that make sense for your situation — whether ADHD was confirmed or not.
The setup for an online ADHD assessment is minimal. Most people already have everything required.
Laptop is preferable for comfort over 90–120 minutes. A phone or tablet also works. The session does not require any special software — we use a browser-based secure video link.
Broadband is ideal. Mobile data (4G or 5G) is sufficient. We recommend testing your connection with a video call before the session if you have had connectivity issues in the past.
You need a space where you will not be interrupted for 90 to 120 minutes. A closed door and reduced background noise are sufficient. You do not need a dedicated office — a bedroom or private room works perfectly.
The clinical interview itself takes 90 to 120 minutes. We recommend building in 15 minutes of buffer before and after the session. Avoid scheduling back-to-back with demanding commitments.
Coach For Mind conducts online ADHD assessments for adults in every Indian city. Many cities in India have no local clinical psychology practice offering formal ADHD assessments — online assessment closes that gap entirely. A selection of cities where our clients have been assessed:
